Shanghai-headquartered Chinaland, which entered the cape trades in August, has now added a newcastlemax to its fast-expanding fleet.
The company, which has traditionally focused on handymaxes and supramaxes, has bought two capesizes in recent months, and has now added its biggest ship to date.
Brokers report Chinaland has bought an Imabari-built ship sold by Greek outfit Golden Union for just under $29m.
Golden Union bought the 2007-built,206,000 dwt Crassier four years ago for just $16m.
