A subsidiary of Tianjin-based BOMESC Offshore Engineering has signed a long term cooperation agreement with Dutch floater expert SBM Offshore.
The deal， signed through Tianjin BOMCO Marine Engineering and Swiss SBM subsidiary Single Buoy Moorings Inc， covers fabrication， integration， and related construction services for topside modules of FPSO units.
Under the framework， the two companies will work together during the planning， development and bidding phases of FPSO projects， as well as related ancillary activities， to identify global market opportunities and improve overall project competitiveness. The two also plan to jointly assess the feasibility of expanding into engineering design and EPC.
The agreement is valid for three years， with the option to extend or terminate by mutual agreement.
BOMESC described the deal as a significant step in its strategic collaboration with the SBM Offshore Group within the FPSO sector， saying it will leverage the companies’ respective strengths in technology， resources and market positioning.
