China’s Fuzhou Wuyang Refined Oil Trading has contracted for two LNG bunker vessel newbuilds at compatriot Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (CIMC SOE).

The deal, with an undisclosed price tag, covers one firm 12,000 cum LNG dual-fuel vessel for delivery in 2027 and one optional newbuild.

Fuzhou Wuyang is currently listed with three small tankers and the latest move suggests the company’s entry into the LNG bunker supply segment. The newbuilds have been designed with two IMO 2G C type liquid cargo tanks of 6,000 cu m each.

Established in 2006, the gas shipbuilding specialist of CIMC Enric has secured several LNG bunker ship orders in the past and delivered close to 40 small to medium-scale gas carriers, more than 300 type C tanks and over 50 offshore oil and gas processing modules. The yard formerly known as Sinopacific Offshore was taken over by CIMC Enric in 2017.
