Swedish tanker owner Terntank took delivery on June 28 of Ternsund – the first in a series of four 15,000dwt chemical tankers with dual-fuel two-stroke engine being built by China-based Avic Dingheng Shipbuilding.
The dual-fuel product tanker left the shipyard on June 28 and is en route to Singapore, where it will load cargo destined for Europe.
The Ternsund is scheduled to reach Europe at the beginning of August.
According to Terntank, the vessel will be distributing refined oil products from NEOT's refinery in Gothenburg, Sweden.
M/T Ternsund completed sea trials last week.
The Ternsund is 147 meters long and 22 meters wide. The vessel is to operate predominantly in northern European waters, according to the company.
The second tanker from the same series, the Ternfjord, is slated for delivery this August, and the remaining two newbuilds will be delivered at the end of 2016 and beginning of 2017, respectively.
