COSCO (Zhoushan) Shipyard has recently signed a newbuilding contract for four 111,000DWT crude oil/product tankers at a value of over $180m with an European owner. This is the sixth new order for COSCO (Zhoushan) since the beginning of this year.

The new vessels are scheduled to be delivered by the first half of 2015. The contract also includes two more optional units.The 111K tanker measures 251.9 m in length, 44.0m in breadth, 21.3m in depth and 14.6 in speed.

The shipyard also won an order for a stinger barge for another European company, which to be delivered in the first quarter of 2014. Besides, COSCO (Dalian) shipyard also won an order to build a 22,000-dwt oil tanker for an Asian company, with delivery scheduled in the fourth quarter of 2014. The later two contracts valued at about $36m in total.
