Chemical tanker player Xingtong Shipping has ordered two stainless steel chemical tankers from Wuchang Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of the China State Shipbuilding Corporation.
Under the contract, Wuchang Shipbuilding will build two 25,900-ton stainless steel chemical tankers designed by Shanghai Odeli Ship Engineering and classified by ABS classification society as double-bottom and double-hull chemical tankers.
The ships will be 157.99 meters long and 27 meters wide with a moulded depth of 14.2 meters, a design draft of 9.5 meters, a structural draft of 10.4 meters, and a service speed of 14 knots.
According to Wuchang Shipbuilding, the ships will meet Tier III and EEDI III specifications for a new generation of green, environmental protection, and energy-saving ships.
Xintong Shipping currently has 29 ships in operation, with a total capacity of 345,900 deadweight tons. The company is looking to build and/or purchase four domestic trade ships with a total of 25,100 deadweight tons, and five foreign trade ships with a total of 62,900 deadweight tons.
