On October 31, the first 49,900 DWT methanol dual-fuel chemical/product oil tanker built by Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) for Swedish Proman Stena was launched on schedule, which is the first new environmental-friendly ship built in China with methanol/oil fuels.

It is a world-leading green ship with 186m in length, 32.2 meters in width, 18.35 meters in depth and 11.5 meters in design draft.

This tanker is powered by dual fuels, including methanol, which can be driven by four fuels: oil, fuel oil hydrate, methanol and methanol hydrate. And it also meets the Tier III emission standards. Furthermore, this vessel is equipped with a shaft generator, which can recover the energy generated by the operation of the main engine and convert the mechanical energy into electrical energy.
