Seatankers Group, a management company led by John Fredriksen, is bolstering its newbuilding investments with four additional ships on order.
The company has reportedly placed an order for two 82,000 dwt Kamsarmaxes with DSIC Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding, with an option to add two more ships to the tally, according to Clarksons.
The two vessels will be delivered in 2020 and 2021 respectively. The orderbook could reach eight units in the series, if options for the two more vessels are declared.
Seatankers is said to be behind an additional order for two 208,000 dwt Newcastlemaxes at Chinese Bohai Shipbuilding, data from Asiasis shows. The duo is set for delivery within 2020.
Clarksons said the bulkers were intended for Golden Ocean, and form part of a previous contract for two firm ships.
