Jinhui Shipping & Transportation has offloaded another ageing supramax as it continues to trim older tonnage and push ahead with its fleet renewal plan.

The Oslo-listed, Hong Kong-based owner said it has struck a deal to sell the 2008-built Jin Sui, a 56,968 dwt vessel constructed at Shanghai Shipyard, to Forever Win Shipping for $10.3m. Delivery is scheduled by the end of February 2026.

The unit has been with Jinhui since delivery. With an unaudited net book value of $10.86m at the end of September, the sale will leave the company with a small book loss of around $0.6m.

Jinhui said proceeds from the deal will go toward repaying short-term debt, settling payables and strengthening liquidity. The company noted the sale supports its effort to reduce interest costs and maintain a tighter balance sheet.

The disposal is the latest step in an active clean-up of Jinhui’s fleet. The company has been selling older supramaxes through the year while adding modern eco-design tonnage. Recently, it committed around $99m to three ultramax newbuildings at Jiangmen Nanyang Ship Engineering.

Jinhui currently controls 26 vessels — 20 owned and six chartered-in. Two of its owned units are under sale-and-leaseback agreements and one is held for sale. Including the latest transaction and the sale-and-leasebacks, the company has sold 10 bulkers, marking one of its busiest periods of fleet reshaping.
