Bangladeshi commodity conglomerate Meghna Group has added its second ship in a few months, according to brokers.
They said that the outfit has bought the 55,000dwt Fleet Phoenix for just under US$9m from Japan's Sanzo Enterprise. Online platform VesselsValue.com sets the market value of the ship at just US$8m.
The ship will slip into one of several shipownings arms of the Bangladeshi group.
In mid-July, another Japanese-controlled ship, the same sized Maple Grove was reportedly snapped up by Meghna, although shipping databases show that this transaction has yet to be completed.
