US-based crude oil shipping company Gener8 Maritime has taken delivery of two ECO Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), the Gener8 Perseus and the Gener8 Oceanus, from South Korean shipbuilders.
The Gener8 Perseus was delivered to the company from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) on Sept. 9, 2016, and the Gener8 Oceanus from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) on Sept. 12.
Upon delivery, the two VLCCs entered Navig8 Group's VL8 Pool.
The two vessels represent the 14th and 15th of 21 ECO VLCCs expected to join Gener8 Maritime's fleet.
Four more VLCC newbuildings are scheduled for delivery in 2016, with two VLCCs expected to join the company in 2017.
