Siem Offshore has sold its 1996-built platform support vessel (PSV) Siem Carrier to an unnamed buyer at a "confidential" price.
The contract, which was originally signed in May 2013, had a gross value of US$50m and included the option to extend by a further four years.
"The new owner will not trade the vessel in the OSV [offshore support vessel] segment," said Siem in a filing.
Latest AIS data shows that the vessel is at anchor off the east coast of Norway, the country in which it is also registered.
Petrobras prematurely cancelled its four-year charter of the vessel in September 2015, after the vessel failed to gain the certification required to get a licence to operate in Brazilian waters.
