Cosco Shipping announced that its fully controlled subsidiary, Cosco Southern Asphalt Shipping, has ordered two 13,000dwt asphalt carriers at Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Co.
The price for each vessel is RMB163m (US$26.2m) and deliveries are scheduled for October and November of 2016.
Cosco Southern Asphalt Shipping currently operates a fleet of 11 asphalt carriers with a total capacity of 72,300dwt.
