China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) announced that its affiliated shipyard, Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry, has entered into shipbuilding contracts with a Singaporean owner for the construction of six 8,000hp AHTS vessels and ten 16,000hp AHTS vessels.
The order is the single largest offshore vessel order for the shipyard.
Wuchang Shipbuilding has been expanding its offshore product portfolio for the past two years. It was awarded a contract by Otto Marine to build four PSVs plus four options in August 2014.
Broking sources unveil that the giant order was placed by Otto Marine.
