US-listed owner and operator of very large gas carriers (VLGCs) Dorian LPG has taken delivery of the ECO VLGC “Corvette” from Hyundai Heavy Industries.
"Corvette", Dorian's third newbuilding delivery, will initially trade in the spot market and is the first of 15 deliveries that the company expects in 2015.
Dorian LPG currently owns and operates six modern VLGCs and one pressurized LPG vessel.
The company has 16 ECO VLGC newbuildings under construction, worth US$1.36 billion.
The investment in the VLGC fleet comes in the wake of expansion of US LPG exports and growing interest of China to import LPG.
