Port operator Labuan Liberty Port Management is in talks with the local governments of Davao and Palawan for the establishment, development and management of a new port in Puerto Princesa, according to the Embassy of Malaysia Trade Office.
Labuan Liberty Port Management CEO Rahman said that the company wanted to open another link with the Philippines, particularly from Puerto Princesa to Labuan, Malaysia, which enjoys free port status.
“We’re in the proposal and discussion stage. We’re a management team. We will find a joint venture partner for this project,” Rahman said.
