South Korean shipbuilding giant Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) has won contracts to build two 19,000 teu containerships from China’s Bank of Communications Financial Leasing Co (BCLC).

The Chinese bank ordered three 18,400 teu ships at the same yard a year ago for a total of $421.5m, to go on long-term charter to Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).
