Reefer vessel operator Seatrade has ordered a pair of 2,200 teu reefer vessels from a chinese yard.
Due for delivery in January 2016 from Yangfan's Zhoushan facility, the ships will accommodate around 12,000 pallets and operate as part of the company's Fast, Direct and Dedicated (FDD) concept.
FDD was developed by Seatrade to differentiate its services from that of larger container lines by offering improved delivery times and specialised reefer vessels, hybrid vessels and specialised container ships.
Seatrade stated that it continues to seek opportunities to expand its fleet through newbuilding acquisitions, modern secondhand vessels and alliances with third party carriers.
