China's Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group has won an order for a series of platform supply vessels worth up to $456m from John Fredriksen's Seatankers.
The owner booked four firm PSVs from Chinese yard and industry sources say the deal includes eight options, bringing the number of total potential orders to 12 ships.
Delivery of the two newbuildings is understood to be penciled in 2012.
Just about two weeks ago, the yard’s affiliated yard Yangzhou Dayang Shipbuilding won an order for four-unit 63,000-dwt bulkers from a European shipowner.
The vessels have larger cargo capacity compared with existing similar types and would be fitted with up-to-date eco-friendly technologies.
