Dietrich Tamke of Germany announced that it had signed a contract to exercise an option for 4,957 teu containership with CSC Jinling Shipyard of China.
Back in 2012, Dietrich Tamke placed a newbuilding order for 4,957 teu containership with double width, “Wieland”, at CSC Jinling for $54m. The boxship newbuild is planned for delivery in March, 2014.
The latest contract for a 4,957 teu, “Tommi Ritscher”, is the third vessel of the boxship newbuilding series and is scheduled to be operated by Gerd Ritscher, a partner company of Dietrich Tamke, upon delivery in 2016.
