Japan’s Kitanihon Shipbuilding bagged an order to construct four 3,500 cbm small-sized liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers from Brave Maritime of Greek owner Vafias Group.
Additionally, the builder won a contract to build two vessels in the same size from a compatriot owner that its track record of the newly-developed pressurized 3,500 cbm LPG carrier posted eight units overall.
Earlier, Kitanihon had inked a contract for two same-sized vessels from E-P Gas of Singapore in the first half of this year.
The Japanese builder is constructing vessels focusing on reefer, chemical tanker and etc. As for LPG carrier, the builder has resumed the construction in about 10 years after 2001 when 4,100 cbm was built at its yard.
