Keppel Offshore & Marine has bagged rig repair and upgrading contracts worth over SGD100m ($78.8m).
Singapore yard Keppel FELS will be undertaking upgrading and modification works on the Ensco semi-submersible rig ENSCO 5005 with work scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2014.
In the Netherlands Keppel Verolme will be carrying out a special periodic survey (SPS) on the Rowan jack-up rig Rowan Gorilla VI, as well as an upgrade of its drilling equipment. The job is due to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2013. The Dutch yard will also undertaking an SPS on the Saipem semi-submersible Scarabeo 5, with delivery due in September 2013.
“Besides newbuidling projects, our yards are constantly kept busy with repairs and upgrades as well. The work is complementary and we are pleased to be able to regularly service our long-standing customers like Ensco, Rowan and Saipem,” said Chow Yew Yuen, coo and ceo-designate of Keppel O&M.
