Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corp (CSSC), won a 180,000 dwt capesize bulker from Taiwanese owner Chinese Maritime Transport. 
According to local reports, the newbuilding is said to be costing $46.8m for delivery in late 2015. 
Particularly, the newbuilding price is seen to stand at a historic low for capesize bulker. 
Clarkson Research said that the standard newbuilding price of 180,000 dwt capesize bulker came to $47.5m as of the end of May. 
Meanwhile, SWS keeps winning large orders of capesize bulker from domestic and overseas owners year to date and recently, the builder was awarded its first PSV order. In addition, the company is said to be in newbuilding negotiations for 9,400 teu large containership, 12,000 cmb LPG carrier and etc., pushing towards winning new contracts for various types of vessels.
