Japan Marine United (JMU) and Imabari Shipbuilding won a massive order from a European shipowner for large-sized bulkers.
According to foreign press and broker industries, SwissMarine split newbuilding orders for six capesize bulkers at the two Japanese yards for delivery in 2015 and 2016.
The 180,000 dwt newbuilding series are said to be priced at around $50m apiece.
Meanwhile, the owner is operating more than 80 capesize bulkers which are mostly known as short-term chartered-in fleet.
