Singapore's Sembcorp Marine (SembMarine) has secured orders from Mexico's Integradora de Servicios Petroleros Oro Negro for the construction of another two jack-up rigs, worth a combined US$417 million.
The rigs will be built on SembMarine's PPL Shipyard’s proprietary Pacific Class 400 design and will be capable of operating in water depths of up to 400 feet and drilling to a depth of 30,000 feet.
Each rig will also have the facilities to accommodate 150 people on board in one-man and two-men cabins.
Following Monday's announcement, Oro Negro now has six jack-ups on order with SembMarine, including two identical jack-ups ordered in November last year and another two similar units ordered in March this year.
One of the units is due for delivery in the fourth quarter of this year, two next year and the final three units are scheduled to be delivered in 2015.
