China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL) has placed a bumper order for 15 offshore support vessels (OSVs) as it seeks to enlarge its operations in the deepwaters of China.
COSL ordered one oil production vessel, four 6,000 bhp platform supply vessels (PSVs), two 9,000 bhp PSVs, two 8,000 bhp anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels, four 12,000 bhp AHTS vessels, and two 15,000 bhp AHTS vessels.
The newbuildings will be built at five different Chinese shipyards and they will be delivered between January to August 2015.
Financial details of the orders were not revealed by COSL, a subsidiary of national oil firm China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC).
