The Norwegian shipowner, Knutsen NYK Offshore Tankers (KNOT), recently finalized a deal for a 152,000-DWT DP2 shuttle tanker to be built by COSCO (Zhoushan) Shipyard.
The vessel will be 276.3 metres in length, 46 metres in width and have a design draft of 17.5 metres.
Additionally, COSCO (Zhoushan) has won another order to build a 150m pipe-laying barge. The vessel will be 150 metres in length, with a moulded width of 36 metres and a moulded depth of 9 metres.
For the time being, the project teams said that the newbuilds have been established and production preparation work is underway. This is another major breakthrough in the offshore segment for COSCO (Zhoushan), following the construction of four platform supply vessels last year.
