China’s Yangfan Group has announced that the company won a contract for two firm 40,600 dwt bulkers with two options from France’s Unishipping.
The firm order for two vessels are to be constructed at Yangfan Group’s affiliated Zhejiang East Coast Shipbuilding, slated for delivery in January 15, 2015, and March 15, 2015, respectively.
The bulkers were previously said to be built in capacity of 39,650 dwt, however, with a change of hull design, it will be constructed in 40,600 dwt.
Meanwhile, along with this contract, Yangfan Group has also won an order for two 1,100 teu containerships from China’s Ningbo Ocean, which has been officially effective on March 21, 2013.
Yangfan Group’s subsidiary, Zhoushan Shipyard, will begin the construction of the containerships which will be completed at another subsidiary shipyard, Zhoushan Dashenzhou Shipbuilding.
