China’s CSC Jinling Shipyard has announced on February 16 that, “With related equipment and materials on board, every process for building 'Titanic II' is ready.”
It added that it will push harder itself for a China-built cruise ship to contribute to a global market.
An official in CSC Jinling Shipyard has said through a press conference which was conducted by Blue Star Line, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Australia’s Mineralogy, “It is not easy to build the vessel as the original, however we ensure that if built with our know-hows accumulated throughout 60 years and supports from domestic/international partner corporations, Titanic II can be constructed without any difficulty,” adding that it will take three years to be completed.
A person at Blue Star Line has said that Titanic II will be every bit as luxurious as the original Titanic; on top of that, it will be equipped with most advanced safety system and modernized service facilities.”
Meanwhile, Clive Palmer, CEO of Mineralogy, said last May that the company would build a modern version of Titanic that sank off Newfoundland 100 years ago and it will initiate its first voyage from England to New York in 2016, retracing its original journey.
