Amoysailing Maritime from Xiamen in China is expanding its fleet with four ultramax bulk carrier newbuilds booked at a domestic yard.
Brokers tell that the company has commissioned the 64,000 dwt quartet at Jiangsu Haitong Offshore Engineering Equipment – a privately owned yard that has seen a number of bulker orders coming in this year.
The newbuilds are priced at $34m each and should deliver in 2026, adding to Amoysailing’s fleet of 12 bulkers.
The company has had a busy year in the secondhand market, bringing in four ships built between 2016 and 2019.
