A week ago, in the handysize sector, Splash reported that Turkey’s Yasa Shipping had sold a six-month-old Jiangmen Nanyang-built, 40,000 dwt-sized bulker named Yasa Daisy for $34m to TMC Shipping. Now, details of another sale by Yasa have emerged.

The Yasa Violet, a ship that hit the slipway in March, has been revealed to be sold to Korean owner Pan Ocean for an undisclosed price. The Yasa Violet was the sixth in a series of 10 vessels commissioned by Yasa at Jiangmen Nanyang.

Pan Ocean, controlled by the Harim Group, has over 100 ships on the water. Pan Ocean has been active both in wet and dry this year. The outfit started the year purchasing a newcastlemax, the 10-year-old Pacific Assurance from OMC Shipping.
