COSCO (Nantong) Shipyard undertakes conversion of wind turbine installation vessel

The signing ceremony for the conversion contract of wind turbine installation vessel Tie Jian Qian 01 was held between COSCO (Nantong) Shipyard and CRCC Harbour & Channel Engineering Bureau Group on November 3.


It is originally a non-self-propelled semi-submersible deck barge with auxiliary propulsion. Besides, it is 78.6m in length, 40m in width and 6m in depth with a design draft of 4.8m and a maximum sinking depth of 25.5m. With two cranes and a working platform as planned, this ship will be converted in a proper way for wind turbine installation at the offshore construction site. After conversion, it will be a semi-submersible vessel capable of lifting wind turbines in offshore navigation areas.
