The signing ceremony for the conversion contract of wind turbine installation vessel “Tie Jian Qian 01” was held between COSCO (Nantong) Shipyard and CRCC Harbour & Channel Engineering Bureau Group on November 3.

It is originally a non-self-propelled semi-submersible deck barge with auxiliary propulsion. Besides, it is 78.6m in length, 40m in width and 6m in depth with a design draft of 4.8m and a maximum sinking depth of 25.5m. With two cranes and a working platform as planned, this ship will be converted in a proper way for wind turbine installation at the offshore construction site. After conversion, it will be a semi-submersible vessel capable of lifting wind turbines in offshore navigation areas.
